Are you helping a relative,
child, partner or friend who has a physical
or mental illness or disability? Then you are a carer. GP's have been
asked to make a register of carers so please tell the Medical Centre
if
you think you are a carer. There is much help available for carers
and
likely to be more in the future.
Such services include:
The Help at Home Scheme which gives practical domestic support for
older people in Chanctonbury (telephone: Anne Heed on 01903 528600)
at a subsidised charge of £4.50 per hour or £3.00 per
hour if you receive
Income Support.
Bereavement Support Services for Carers.
A new, free and confidential service for bereaved carers run by the
Carers
Liaison Project and generously supported by Marks and Spencer. For
more details telephone 01903 528600.
General Information for Carers can be obtained from the Carers Liaison
Project, a registered charity in Worthing, by telephoning 01903 528600. |

Our minor illness specialist
nurse surgery is held daily from 9.00am to
11.00am. All appointments may be booked on the day. The following
conditions can be seen by our nurse and she will then refer you to
a GP
if you need further follow up; conjunctivitis;
coughs, sore throats,
colds, flu like symptoms; cystitis; thrush; back pain; hay fever;
gastroenteritis; skin rashes.
It is not necessary to see a GP if you suffer from hay fever. There
are a
wide range of medications that can be obtained from the chemist. The
pharmacist will be able to advise you on the preparation most suitable
to treat your symptoms. Our minor illness specialist nurse should
be
consulted if your symptoms have not been controlled by these remedies.
