For a routine appointment
please telephone 01273 492255. This
number is open during office hours, 8.30am 5.30pm, Monday to
Friday. If you are requesting a routine consultation please, if possible,
telephone after 9.30am to keep our lines free for urgent callers.
We
feel that it is important for you to see the doctor you are registered
with whenever possible. We use a ten minute appointment system
to minimise waiting times, however doctors sometimes cannot avoid
running late. If you have multiple problems or more than one family
member to be seen please make a double appointment. You may
see your doctor at either our Henfield or Partridge Green surgeries.
Please let us know if you are unable to keep an appointment so that
another patient may be seen. |

If you require urgent
medical attention that day please telephone
01273 492255, to request a consultation. The receptionist will ask
for
your telephone number and an indication of the degree of urgency.
The duty doctor or specialist nurse will then phone you back to give
medical advice and if required, an appointment time for the appropriate
tests or consultation. You may be offered an appointment with the
nurse. Patients telephoning before 9.30am will be contacted and
offered an appointment in the morning. Callers after 9.30am may have
to wait until the early afternoon to be contacted. |

Please come to the surgery
if you possibly can. We are able to see
many more patients this way. If however you are too ill to attend,
the
doctor will visit you at home. Requests for visits should whenever
possible be made before 10.00am. You will be asked for details of
your illness so that the doctor can assess the urgency and plan his
visits accordingly. It does not do any harm to bring children with
a
temperature to the surgery, so please bring them if you can. We have
facilities to separate infectious patients from other waiting patients,
if you let the receptionist know. |

The doctors are happy
to discuss problems over the telephone. If
you need help or advice please telephone 01273 492255 and ask to
speak to your doctor's personal assistant. She may be able to resolve
the problem for you or alternatively will suggest a time when your
doctor will be free to speak to you. |

If you are on repeat medication
you will be given a slip which can
be used for ordering your next prescription. These should be marked
and handed in, or posted to, the surgery at Henfield or Partridge
Green. Alternatively you can hand it in at Lloyds Pharmacy in the
Henfield
High Street. You can also order online from this website.
If you are perhaps elderly or infirm, or cannot do any of the above
for
a particular reason, then in those instances we can accept telephone
requests after 9.30am on 01273 492255. However, we do ask patients
to avoid this method of ordering whenever possible as it can block
our
busy lines. |

We can only dispense drugs
for patients who live over a mile away
from a chemist and also in emergencies. Lloyds Pharmacy collects
prescriptions for non-dispensing patients. Drugs can be delivered
to
Small Dole on Tuesday afternoon if they are requested the previous
Friday. Drugs can also be collected from our Partridge Green Surgery. |

If you require a blood
test you will be offered an appointment with
either our nurse or phlebotomist. You may be asked to provide a
specimen for other tests. Please label these clearly with your name
and return them to the surgery by 10.30am when they are sent to
the laboratory for analysis. If you are asked to ring the surgery
for
the result of a test please telephone 01273 492255 between 2.00pm
and 5.00pm. |
